My entry for the 2012 annual Riva1920 contest
Riva 1920 is an important italian furniture producer, that is strictly related to design field. Every year, since 2011, they set up a contest in wich students and professional designer are called to create a piece of furniture using a special wood that can be found only in the Lagoon of Venice. Is a cheap wood that is used to create some structures called Briccole, that with sun, sea water, usage, get damaged and need to be replaced.

Here, with my friend Nicolò Argento, we created a table (requested by the contest) that got in it the atmosphere of Venice, using some tipical sings and reporting the ligthing effects you should find every step in Venice with some glass on top, with the shap of "canal grande", called Canalasso in venician. Those legs, the glass/water, the shape, the decorations, everything lead to a particular poetry, that reminds us the fragilty of venice, that as the time pass by could disappear. But also reminds its magic feeling, its classy look.
